that's heaps better
Most of that lack of sharpness will be down to camera shake, a tripod will help that. It also looks very blue on this monitor, the white balance could use a bit of adjustment

In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

POTN isnt a bad resource.
The last image is much better. As BF said a tripod will help enormously .. also a remote trigger and using mirror lock up and no AF.

Some say he only showers on even days of the week
Some say he put an R1 motor in a coffee machine
All we know is he's Hewie.

If i get a chance tomorrow i will go back into photoshop and play around with the white balance etc to tone it down alittle now you can see more detail. Now ive gotta get out there and try out my cheap $40 tripod and remote trigger and hopefully see a difference! Cheers for the advice guys![]()

I had plenty of time to rub one out in space which was great but after awhile it was like living in a snowglobe - Peter Griffin
The first photo is on the way to margaret river from busselton. Was there at the perfect time of the day light was shimmering off the trees and it was eerily quiet.
Second is at Gracetown near margs
Third one is on the plane back from bali over the kimberley. Its awesome how you can see the curve of the earth on the horizon
Full resolution of these pics are wonderful downsizing them takes a bit away
I am completely in love with both these photos. Wish I actually had some talent myself.
Is that first one trying to hold her hands together, or is he an evil minion of our dark lord Satan and prying them apart?

Just had a look at the website. Amazing ideas. Love the balls of light theme.

LAst night there was an awesome corona around the moon. It was the biggest one I have ever seen, It took up a fair chunk of the sky, in the end it was a 30 second exposure, 3.0fstop and 100iso.
It was the best I could get if anyone knows any better ways to make that sort of thing work let me know. The issue is obviously that the light off the moon over exposes it, but a long exposure was needed before the rings could be seen.

To open mate.
Remember, when the moon is full its almost like pointing your camera at the sun in terms of reflected light.

Are you saying Change the F-stop to a higher number, F-stop is aperture right? So a higher f-stop means more closed aperture and then less light, is that correct?
I thought I tried that but it came out over exposed. I cant remember though.
Please correct me if I have just dribbled there and totally misinterpreted what you meant.
Are you on Mac Hewie or PC, if Mac what program do you use for photos and HDR?

Yup spot on.
Yeah ... f3 is way too low for Lunar work.
Yes ... f (apature) is the measure of the opening. The lower the number the larger the opening. Each increment halves the amount of light passing through.
So the standard f stops are f/1 - f/1.4 - f/2 - f/2.8 - f4 - f/5.6 - f/8 - f/11 - f/16 - f/22 and so on.
You need to shoot manual ...the full moon is one of the hardest things to shoot due to the amount of reflected light. It washes out alot of your detail.
I use both PC and MAC mate. I use Photoshop CS4 and Lightroom + a couple of others.
