If your as big of a fan as i was for Band of Brothers then you will love the new mini series thats being released around march 2010 "The Pacific"

"The Pacific is based primarily on two memoirs of U.S. Marines: With the Old Breed by Eugene Sledge and Helmet for My Pillow by Robert Leckie. The series will tell the stories of the two authors and Marine John Basilone, as the war against the Empire of Japan rages.

Given the literary sources mentioned above, the series will feature well-known battles involving the 1st Marine Division, such as Guadalcanal, Cape Gloucester, Peleliu, and Okinawa, as well as Basilone's involvement in the Battle of Iwo Jima." From Wikipedia.

It is directed and produced by the same people who did BOB (spielberg, hanks) and features alot of aussie actors (a couple from the current series of "rush") seeing it was primarily filmed in the eastern states.

ive known about this for about 12 months but there was never any info other then the cast anywhere, but i dare say over the coming months more teaser trailers will be released

Lets just hope they dont postpone the tv series release like they did Band of brothers. I wasnt a happy camper after seeing all the BOB teaser trailers on tv only to be told a couple of weeks before release its been pushed back another year

nice, for info stephen ambrose has done another ww2 book as a follow to BOB, called victors and focuses on 1945 - got for dad for father day - looks a good read.

Pegasus bridge
Wild blue
and of course Band of Brothers
I highly recommend all his books as they are a really good read
