Please recommend me a Liquid Injection Gas Installer/System

    The story goes..

2007 BF XR6 with ~130,000kms this car is not worth selling, best we just run it to fail/the ground (or ~5 years - we average 25,000kms year and we think/calculate we will save several thousand in fuel during that period).

Would love to by one of the latest Fords with this technology from factory, but that money is better spent on the mortgage.

Should of considered this a while ago and have read up a few archived threads on this matter across a few forums. I would like some current (remember technology advances so know BS about old systems) advice, and most importantly a contact for a reputable installer/system of liquid injected gas.

So far we are considering SS Motors (Ross I think and does the JTG liquid injection system) in Balcatta, my mate is yet to get back to me about someone in Myaree, and then there is Steens, Gaspower etc etcSo, who do you recommend? Did you get it done recently - so can can give me a fair idea of current costs?

Phildo, I'm sure you have a lot of knowledge on this matter, you see these gassed up Fords all the time

Im also interested in hearing who people recommend.
Im looking to put my Hilux on gas this year, have the mrs verada on gas and thats a prinns VSI system.
Has been great so far, the only guy I know who installs the prinns systems does so from a workshop in Jandakot.
Will try and find his contact details later.
    Theirs no replacement for displacement

Got a Romano SVI system fitted to my BA sedan, wouldn't do it again. Was fitted by Gaspower.

Have been quoted by Steens for LPI fitment, not sure of the brand. Mews Autogas in Bibra Lake is another.

If I was going LPG in another car and if I was in your shoes it would be LPI all the way. Give Steens a ring they are happy to talk through some options with you. Just be prepared to pay 5K or more for a decent system with the toroidal tank.

    Thanks mate

    Research so far shows..

    ~ $3800 for a vapour injection system
~ $4500 for an Orbital liquid injection system
~ $5200 for a JTG liquid injection system

    Rebate currently at $1250

Given the age of my car and probably only keeping it for 5 more years, might just stick with the vapour system - since the LPI system is still kinda teething with good and bad stories from different installers/forums

Mews Auto will do a sprintgas system for $3600 so that could be me

Here is a rough calculation block using today's metro average of $1.41 ULP, $0.76 LPG..

    Fields with * are required.
    1. Kilometers Travelled per Year * Required Field 0-999999 25000

    3. LP Gas Cost per Ltr (in cents)* Required Field 0-999999 $ 3277.5
    4. Petrol Consumption Ltr/100Km* Required Field 0-999999 15
    1. Litres of Petrol used per year 3750 Ltrs
    2. Litres of LP Gas used per year 4312.5 Ltrs
    3. LP Gas Consumption 17.25 Ltrs/100 Km
    4. Savings per Kilometer $ 0.08
    5. Fuel cost saving with LPG per year $ 2010

I stick with the boring factory stuff (ie the mixer system). It's inefficient, but extremely simple and reliable. Requires almost no maintenance. I'm bloody pissed off that Ford isn't going to make a station wagon with the new LPi setup that they are using on the FG sedans. That sucker actually puts out more power than the petrol equivalent.

With LPG, be aware of the range in pricing. Most Caltex servos are extremely expensive for LPG. You'll generally find a price range difference of at least 17c/litre between the cheapest and most expensive in any area. If you have an iPhone, do a search for FuelWatch on iTunes. I use the FuelWatcher and FuelView apps the most.
One owner. Only driven gently on Sundays. Sold to best offer. First to see will buy. Reward offered for safe return. Coming soon to a cinema near you. Available for a limited time only.

My waterbed broke this morning. Oh, I don't have a waterbed. Bugger.

Hot damn, go the orbital system. You know how much my shitty Romano SVI system cost all up with the toroidal tank? $4800. That was in 2007 though with the full rebates still available (some $3000).

Also, Orbital did some work with Ford for the new factory LPi system, I'm pretty sure its the same or very similar, the obvious difference being the aftermarket one is dual fual.
