    PSB Register of non iWankers

<RANT>OK, just wanted to gauge how many of us are left out there who haven't assimilated to the Apple Borg?

I don't particularly have anything against Apple (except iTunes), just the people who own it.

People who use Windoze and other OS's know they are not perfect and accept their idiosyncrasies.

Apple users on the other hand seen to need to spend all their time telling the rest of the planet how wonderful their products are and how great it is that they just work etc...

The 2 things iPhone users don't get:
    1. You are not an individual because you own one, and
    2. Everybody who chooses not to own one hates you

Is anybody else with me, or am I a lone voice in the Apple wilderness?</RANT>

There are plenty of people here who like to pretend Android or <snigger> Windows Mobile do everything as well, without the headaches. They ignore the malware, the clunky shitty hardware that tries its precious little heart out to run the google monster, and they proudly tout the stuff as being some kind of eliteware.

Google, IMO, is getting just as nasty a corporate citizen as Apple or Microsoft these days so I don't really worry about it any more.

At least with Apple the updates come promptly, rather than having to wait to get through Samsung and then Telstra etc.

    Meh.

    iWank, and iProud.

You've obviously not given it a go. Why the need for the rage against a group of people that like something else? No one here pushing apple stuff down your throat.

Pretty simple really, I need functionality and flexibility, iPhone doesn't deliver either.

Even Steve Wozniac sees iPhone as "recommended for the ones who are already in the Mac world, because it's so compatible, and people who are just scared of computers altogether and don't want to use them".

A recent study showed that Android sales in the US are double iPhone and that a much larger percentage of buyers actually researched the operating system before choosing Android. iPhone user just want and iPhone and no amount of demonstrating superior functionality in Windows Mobile and Android will get them to choose otherwise.

You can start another thread about your Italian cafe latte mega expensive motorcycle too if you like, to see who hasn't gone the way of the cheap reliable Japanese brands. Same concept - some people like some things, some people like other things. That' why different kinds of the same thing exist.

BTW I have a foot in each camp with the bikes and the computers, each has their good and bad points and I use which ever one suits what I want to do at the time, so bite me

One thing that is already perfectly clear is that reading and comprehension skills are not common in Apple users...

No, it is all about personal choice. I have never seen a group of users so one eyed.

You have to love their marketing. Let's give iPads to primary school children, get em while they're young, let's stop those brains from developing properly..

I think you'll find that people aren't supporting your simplistic view because regardless of whether they use Apple products or not, they can come up with stronger arguments than hating Apple users because they use Apple:

Maxo has it right - The anti Apple brigade are just as annoying (IMO more annoying) as the people who believe everything from Apple is amazing.

Did Steve Jobs touch you when you were little?

The latest PC Tech magazine has an article about how pointless the argument is. The writer says that if he was buying a smartphone for his older aunt he would buy and iPhone. If he was buying a smartphone for himself he would get Android. He concludes that if you want flexibility go Android, if you want slickness go iPhone.

I think Android will overrun iPhone and it will take the place that Apple always has, funky, groovy designer-types will have iPhone (about 12 percent market share), people who need to do work will have Android.
