I've been eyeing off a new ps3 game for a while, but keep talking myself out of it as every game i have has a play life of about 20 minutes before I get bored (bar gta4 and guitar hero... and normally i wouldn't even like those games)

It's nostalgia central. 40 games on the disk including:
ALex the Kid
All the Sonic series
Streets of Rage series
Golden Axe series
Phantasy Star series

and others which I haven't heard of.

I know what you mean though. I bought splinter cell double agent a fortnight ago and cbf with it anymore.

The only thing that disappointed is that I thought it would be full screen, but it's not. It's like 4:3 dimensions with a black background thing.

Still fun to play. Classic button configuration.

maxo: 360 is free to hack (with the right friends) and free games, all the big releases are generally dual console however, reasons to buy the PS3: God of War 3, The Last Guardian.

Those are the 2 reasons right now i would consider it.

I sort of miss the days where consoles had their own stable of games and there was very, very little crossover.

Sort of how actors used to be contracted to specific movie studios I guess.

It made owning a console sort of like a committment to a brand or particular style of games.

3 of my fav's from my mate's various jobs as a car spraypainter:

Painting the kid into the centre of the workshop floor, having the manager come past to roar at him for being so stupid and not being allowed to leave til it was dry. Overnight.

Cable tying the kid's bicycle to the mesh fence. Short kid, tall fence, knock-off time.

Metal cable ties around the diff, cla-chink cla-chink cla-chink. Kid takes day off to take car to workshop as fearing car is about to assplode.

screw that i dont want 20x different consoles i only want 1 of 2 i love that games are cross platform. Realistically Sony no longer has the pull to cause this (back when their market share was 80%+) and let's be serious, it's time to update the ps3 controller the buttons sucked on the ps2 and they suck now.
