@anyone considering a projector.

I use an ultra bright projector, works fine during the day..

Due to the layout of my house, I can never make the media room dark during daylight.

My projector is a Hitachi CPX615 and handles the job fine, but I did pick it out specifically for the room.

Globes last about 3.5K hours for it and cost 500-600 bucks(internationally) or 1500 bucks(locally)

It has a removable filter system that needs replacing every 400 hours, but that costs bugger all.

Don't buy locally either, you'll get thoroughly ripped off. Find someone that will buy in HK for you(just get a machine with a worldwide service contract) for eg. 13K quote locally, cost 3K from HK.

Having said all that, I'm still building the DIY projector. I'm almost there, so we'll see how it goes in comparison maybe next week...
