In other news, I finally dragged my arse into the 21st century and bought an Xbox. Yes the games are rad (hanging for Colonial Marines next week) but the free movie channel was a nice surprise. Just finished watching American Werewolf in London. Akiko had never seen it before, so double awesome .
It begs the questions though, with things like all the Xbox streaming, iView, SBS on Demand all the extra free to air TV channels and TPB, why on earth do people still get foxtell?

i got foxtel around 1997 / 98 to watch the GP's and superbikes, because they werent on 2,7,9, 10 and had it on ever since, to be fair they were really taking the piss there with their customers for a few years before the new free to air channels turned up but its got better now, we dropped sport and movies a while back, theres about 100 channels on our package,including the time shifts and 10 HD channels which i rekon make it worth it if you have a HD big screen, ( which i think most people do now ) the 1TB PVR good too. I like the international news channels better than local feeds on fta
i havent found an internet channel that comes anywhere near it, but open to suggestions
yesterday managed to grab on the HD channels some Band of Brothers, recording the last one for later, because ive never seen it, That "the Universe" doco and some Top Gear, so i give it thumbs up.
plus if you got children the kids channels are a sanity saver
my comment is theres still nothing on, but there is a far wider variety of shit to choose from.

when arguments were only entered into by the physically or intellectually able.
Cos there's basically no sport left on free to air, and when TV networks do buy the rights to a sport they tend to only show a few games, run them on delay and generally dick the viewing public around. For NRL games I have dinner at the pub . By not having Fox I miss out on pretty much all the European soccer codes save a few Serie A and Bundesliga games on ONE, I don't see any WSBK, I get half the week's NRL games on Nine, most of it delayed with ads, I don't see any A league matches and for 4AM world cup qualifiers I'm trying to find a pub with a 24 hour license and a Foxsport screen. Let's not even talk about Nine's coverage of the London Olympics. Fucking shameful.
