In other news, I finally dragged my arse into the 21st century and bought an Xbox. Yes the games are rad (hanging for Colonial Marines next week) but the free movie channel was a nice surprise. Just finished watching American Werewolf in London. Akiko had never seen it before, so double awesome .
It begs the questions though, with things like all the Xbox streaming, iView, SBS on Demand all the extra free to air TV channels and TPB, why on earth do people still get foxtell?

'Cause not everyone has good interweb speed and the vast majority of the extra free to air channels are crap?

Still, I do think people who pay for TV are a bit silly.

i got foxtel around 1997 / 98 to watch the GP's and superbikes, because they werent on 2,7,9, 10 and had it on ever since, to be fair they were really taking the piss there with their customers for a few years before the new free to air channels turned up but its got better now, we dropped sport and movies a while back, theres about 100 channels on our package, including the time shifts and 10 HD channels which i rekon make it worth it if you have a HD big screen, ( which i think most people do now ) the 1TB PVR good too. I like the international news channels better than local feeds on fta

i havent found an internet channel that comes anywhere near it, but open to suggestions

yesterday managed to grab on the HD channels some Band of Brothers, recording the last one for later, because ive never seen it, That "the Universe" doco and some Top Gear, so i give it thumbs up.

plus if you got children the kids channels are a sanity saver

my comment is theres still nothing on, but there is a far wider variety of shit to choose from.

Cos there's basically no sport left on free to air, and when TV networks do buy the rights to a sport they tend to only show a few games, run them on delay and generally dick the viewing public around. For NRL games I have dinner at the pub . By not having Fox I miss out on pretty much all the European soccer codes save a few Serie A and Bundesliga games on ONE, I don't see any WSBK, I get half the week's NRL games on Nine, most of it delayed with ads, I don't see any A league matches and for 4AM world cup qualifiers I'm trying to find a pub with a 24 hour license and a Foxsport screen. Let's not even talk about Nine's coverage of the London Olympics. Fucking shameful.

Well, used to be. There's a decent amount of streaming sites available now, even though it means we need to put up with Nasser Hussain

    oh hi.

I went to Nanga and drank like a fish. I learned this weekend that if you have a birthday party just far enough away from where most of your friends live, only the ones that really care will turn up. I also learned that my fortitude and constitution borrow heavily from Greek mythology, that made up superheroes are the best kind and that the sand I have in my shorts and jocks from the Murray River are totally inconsequential compared the sand getting thrown around here in similar places at the moment.

Plus, I hit a super awesome long and straight drive on the ninth hole at Serpi on Friday then drove super quick up Del Park and Nanga Road.

... aaaaaand blues and port are pretty fucking great too.

wtf is this? it's about 6cm long, plastic (and something else inside of it) and came with an outdoor setting i bought. it doesn't fit on any part of the furniture. even so, i cannot imagine what it could be used for.

Could it be the part that goes under a glass surface on the table, so the table top doesn't rest on the frame?

Does it have a liquid around the inner bag bit? and is the outer plastic squishy?

If so I would say it's a two part epoxy that you squish to mix...

A long shot but I have seen similar sets for this...
