msn me biatch.
Keep the formatting simple and bold, and keep it succinct, 2 pages max.
Try and do a "skills matrix"
Don't go into too much about your personal life.
List your jobs from most recent to first.
Don't include your referees "referees available upon request"
Um, yeah, HTH.
EDIT: Oh yeah, don't be afraid to "tweak" your CV for different jobs.
Sorry dude, are you saying I should say on request, or shouldn't?Originally Posted by Desmogod

I have a pretty well laid out Resume, which is often copied by others, including head hunters who can't figure out themselves how they're supposed to look. PM if you want a link to a template and/or needs review/polish.
Thankyou
Also, big thankyou to Dingle for sorting me out before
Remind me next time you catch me on msn Mr Torq![]()

Include last 5 years' worth of RELEVANT info. Include specific skills required for the role - working in a team, software (and include level of competence for each), leadership, projects you've worked on. Include the shitty stuff too to show you can do all areas of a job.
Summarise what other work you've been doing, and only include your highest level of high school education, and any further education qualifications.
Include any hobbies, bosses like team-sports and charity work.
If you're applying for a specific role, look at the job spec and edit your resume to comply with what is required. If you're sending to an agency, they'll do the same (if they're good!).
Ps: in the interview, if they ask if you prefer working alone or in a team, say they are completely different scenarios that both consist of pros and cons (give examples of both), and can't really be compared. They love it![]()

The above suggestions are pretty good, definitely a good place to start. Re-write your CV so it matches the job and do a skills matrix, especially if it's an IT job because it'll help getting your CV gets past the HR juniors (i.e. me) and into the hands of someone who knows what they're looking at.
Don't worry about a 2 page limit, write down what you can if it's relevant to the job and if it isn't, keep it brief but put it in there - gaps in time are things that recruiters look for.
If you get stuck or you're not to sure where to begin, feel free to flick me a pm.
Make sure your format is free flowing and highlights and focuses on what skills you posess and what you can bring to the company.
Tailor each resume to suit each position you apply for, ask for a Job Description if one isnt supplied and focus on what you can do in relation to the tasks of the position.
I am a contract manager for a mining company and have done many CVs as well as recieved and reviewed hundreds of applications. Feel free to PM if you want some direction, i wont write it for you but most definately help you develop yours.
