i tend to dissagree, the person inteded murder, through a long and painfull process, admittinly she is alive yes, but she will be horribly scarred for life, i think CP would suit the perp because at the end of the day it was a serious attempt of murder

This perpetrator could be seriously ill and need all the help he can get, if that's the case, I have no issues with my taxes going to his (or her) continuing treatment and incarceration in a mental institute.
Having said that, he could just be a nasty fuck or a jealous/jilted lover in which case I again have no issues with him being locked up for life and continually raped by a man called "tiny".
However at this stage with no evidence availed to us it's nothing more than speculation, so drawing an educated opinion is impossible and any thoughts provoked are no more than reactionary and ideas of retribution shouldn't be part of a balanced and educated man's thought process.

I have to believe this guy is seriously disturbed and needs a great deal of help.

There's no way to absolve what he did, but I just can't believe this is the action of an even remotely stable individual.

in a crime of passion or anger people will do horrible things, someone may want their victim dead and possibly try to hide the evidence, but they don't burn someone alive or torture them.

if i've got it wrong and this is what a "normal" healthy mind is capable of concocting then any remaining faith i had in humanity is lost.

if your idea of punishment is to think up something equally or more painful for them to go through you're not really that far separated from the animal that committed the crime.

they need to be separated from society, that in itself is a punishment.
