    Traffic Light

    Hi folks

Can any one tell me if you have a crash into a traffic light pole. Will there be a bill for a new one?

And how much are traffic light poles worth?

Long story short i no someone who crash he's 250 in to a traffic pole and he seems to think he will not have to pay a bill.

But a find this hard to believe!! like why the fuck sould i have to pay for pole out of my taxes? He has no insurance and the accident was his 100% fault.

YES HE IS A DICK!! and alive.

I believe if the bike is registered and he is licensed, then it is covered.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon! Press the brake foot as you roll around the corners, and save the collapse and tie up.

    Can't remember the price...

How much damage did he do with a 250...

An F250, yes I can understand that...

Surely it can't have done much damage...

I know of a GSXR750 that hit a pole at very high speed, killing the rider...

The pole is still there, just a few gouges out of it...

    Paging Sonik...

Aren't they something like 10-17 grand, depending on how big and how many lights it has?

    Either way, not cheap...

If the pole needs to be replaced or repaired yes the driver of the vehicle gets a bill, comprehensive insurance will cover it if you claim and they don't find you negligent.
The price varies tremendously as it includes labour and callout fees etc so night time, weekends and public holidays can effectively double or even triple that part of the overall cost.
Sonik may have some better answers being in the field.

As far i know he fell of his bike at burn beach traffic lights the bike hit the suburban light pole at 80kph he had come of at this stage,

He says the cops will not bill him for the pole because it was a accident he says he hit a water drain.

You may be confusing traffic light pole with street light poles, or I am wooden utility poles are about $5000 installed, traffic light poles can be more labour intensive but the pole itself is cheaper if the lights can be salvaged, the 3 section street lighting poles are cheap enough too but crane hire and traffic control to get them put back up soon adds to the price.

They aren't cheap. not sure about traffic poles but a friend recently got a bill from western power for $7,700 for a wooden power pole..

Hopefully insurance covers it or your friend may be stuck paying it ogf for a few years!

Had a mate drive into a big light pole and got a bill for $16989K

    As he was uninsured,

I called BS so he showed me the bill, it was on a standard Western Power bill but had 16989K on it, my jaw just dropped! lol

He ended up paying $25 a week and will be paying it off for the rest of his life,

    moral of the story,

    always have insurance!

    ^^^ works

Did a light pole on the FWY in a cage when on "p" plates ... ended up paying 20bucks a month till I got sick of it, and just rang them and paid it out...

light poles not so expensive, (1 section approx $1k about 15 years ago) traffic lights according to hearsay are sposed to be $$$$ (again depending on damage)

So wanted to go put a "property of" sign on it (well I paid for it didnt I?)
