"In all the human societies we have ever reviewed, in every age and in every state, there has seldom if ever been a shortage of eager young males prepared to kill and die to preserve the security, comfort and prejudices of their elders, and what you call heroism is just an expression of this fact; there is never a scarcity of idiots." -The Culture
yey.....but what the fuck not coming out till june?????

Actually... back in the original cartoon... I remember there was a bunch of transformers that formed together to make one big fuck-off robot.
They were green and were construction type vehicles.
If you can... you MUST!
Ahem.
:really:
I re-watched the first new film a few days ago. I remember having a pretty good time with it in the cinema, but I can't possibly be the only person to realise just how god-awful the movie is given any kind of reflection.
The story is painfully thin, the script and characters just cringe-worthy. It couldn't decide if it wanted to be a goofy kids film or a goofy action movie, so it tries to straddle both while Michael Bay does his typical, completely over-the-fucking-top action thing. As a technical achievement it's still quite excellent. The CG work is top notch, if a little busy (just tell me what the fuck is going on in some of those fight scenes, please) and Peter Cullen voicing Optimus Prime made me awfully happy, but overall the movie just doesn't quite work completely on any level. As a popcorn, no brain movie to check out with mates it's certainly worthy of your time, but has almost no qualities that make it watchable a second time.
I hope the sequel is everything the original should have been.

I watched the original cartoon movie about 2 weeks ago
CMON Transformers 2

I'm with you Cam. There was just nothing to tie the movie to what we grew up with.
In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

Couldn't agree more. I was almost embarassed to be sitting there watching it. I'm glad that punk got some acting skills for Indiana Jones. If it weren't for Megan Fox I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as I did.Originally Posted by Cam

Personally, I would love to see a dark version of Transformers (or any old school cartoon) that is not aimed at a 12 year old audience. Something that is targeted at late 20s-30s that used to watch the series as a kid.Something Hollywood isn't allowed to butt-rape
