    A truth is spoken

"Once you can have people more frightened of disorder than tyranny, it enables you to do almost anything you like so far as legislation is concerned." Chief Judge Antoinette Kennedy, 26/3/2010.

"The State must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation." Adolph Hitler, Mein Kampf

He makes a strong point, we truly do have a revolving duopoly.

What reinforces this to me is how the major parties reacted when Pauline Hanson and One Nation threatened to become a new force in politics. I'm not supporting her or her policies, just commenting on how the major parties did everything they could to rain on her parade.

Personally, and this is just my wacky view on it, which means it will never happen, and only makes sense in my fantasies, I think we need a civil war, NOTHING is going to change with basically 2 parties. A real shakeup is needed, but no one will do it because they will get thrown out or whatever, Australians are far too complacent when it comes to do much of anything. An internet filter being condemmed by everybody, I STILL have to explain what it means to people, and instead of doing anything constructive about it, we just look for ways around it. We have police getting busted for murdering aboriginals, dealing drugs etc, is their any real uproar, no, we are a complacent country and it pisses me off

Assuming revolution/civil war breaks out in the eastern states, I wonder how long it would take for it to spread over here?

lol, I see it as not happening, be like the great war, you would all be over their going "look at them eastern wankers" and we would be saying "bloody westerners, always chickening out" and then a 3rd front would get involved

A civil war with our gun laws? getting searched on the street? Having your Tank hoon lawed?

    Fat chance

Just make a law to remove the voting rights from anyone complaining about the current government. They will get re elected for sure then.
I'm not allowed to vote, I got 'whinge lawed'

Don't forget it is against the law to promote civil unrest, let alone a civil war.

He delivered his assessment while launching an initiative of the Accountability Round Table, designed to reward politicians for honour and integrity.

What would the reward be? a more comprehensive super fund?

hence why we need a war where we can have something like a bill of rights, a freedom of speech set into the constitution, instead we get laws saying that your say, even if it be extremist, is against the law

    I concure with his statement.
However I doubt you'll see any beat up on this by comercial media as it's driven by the same reasons.
