Their fave foods are generally whats not good for them, suprise suprise. Try to get them to eat fruit and vegies. Carrot, apple & corn are usually fairly popular, but if they have never had it before it can be hard to get them to eat it. Perseverance is the key. Try to stick away from lettuce, avocado, and excess sunflower seed as these are really bad for them and can cause serious problems. The other thing you can try are pelletised diets and treats (same sort a thing as dog biscuits and schmackos etc).

Not a weiro I know, but along the same lines...as jabba said...stay away from lettuce etc. Our Pink n Gay Galah loves rice, toast (no marg or butter), carrots, peanuts, tomoato, sultanas and the occasional finger for dessert.

Feed them good quality, small parrot seed mix plus a regular supply of fresh fruits and vegies. Celery, pumpkin, carrots, beans, apples and peas are all suitable.

You can also try native foods such as eucalypt, wattle, casuarina, bottlebrucsh and melaleuca. Keep a constant supply of water. Cuttlebone or calcium and iodine bells help.
However, FJ and Uncle Ho (MyFX) are 2 examples of people that dont fit this genre but fit into the forum well as well respected members.
