There's a term for this maths phenomenom I 'discovered' 26 years ago, but I don't know what it is called. My maths teacher told me, I don't remember, anyhow:
(y-1)(y+1)=y^2 -1

(It might not suprise you to learn that I didn't have a boyfriend in school)

eg y=5, then 4 times 6 (ie 24) equals 5 squared -1
y=10, then 11 times 9 equals 10 squared -1
5x7= 35 = 6 squared -1

and so on

I came to this conclusion while trying to line up biscuits on a cooking tray
Several hundred years after somebody else, I presume
I have never done anything exciting
*quietly sobs*

I've been talking about a "people powered gym" for years. Where all of your cardio equipment is connected to generators that output power when people use it. I always wondered why it hasn't happened before.

This morning, whilst sitting here doing some uni work, I noticed a segment on some morning tv show, about a gym that is doing just that.

One day, I'll follow through with an idea...lol

So, I want to know what ideas you've had, that you have since discovered someone followed through.

Please no "I invented sliced bread" type comments please.
I have a similar idea where you are straped onto the machine and it does all the work for you.It's work out for fat & lazy

I have two patents currently waiting prototyping.

I was the same. Always coming up with good ideas and not doing anything about it! My mum has a picture I drew of a reflective disc with pits and a laser to read it. Drew that about 2 years before CD's came out

I had an idea to install a master switch next to the main bedroom door which controls power to select power points so when you go to bed at night you can just flick a switch and turn off power to devices that use standby power overnight without having to crawl behind the tv etc. It would be really easy to do but all the gear to do it allready exists and I dont think you can patent a system.
