I know I'm preaching to the converted, but I just can't resist getting onto the soap-box again.
To anyone who says there is "carnage on our roads", here's the proof, again, they're spruiking bullshit.

National toll at its lowest but deaths rise in older road users
It is based on NSW Dept of Transport figures.
A couple of quotes.
and interestingly...THE national road toll has fallen to its lowest level since 1946, when Australia's population was one-third the size it is now and the three-point seatbelt was still more than a decade away.
More people died on NSW roads in 1970 than nationally last year.
NSW had a shocking month in December, recording 40 deaths compared with 25 in the same month the previous year.
But the NSW toll for 2011 was down by 7.2 per cent (to 376 deaths), whereas Victoria, which has widespread use of hidden speed cameras, did not record a reduction.
Queensland, which also uses covert speed cameras, recorded an 8 per cent increase in road deaths, although it was the second-lowest figure for the state since reliable records began in 1952.
Just saying.......
