    Willagee?

    Hi Guyz,

Looking at buying my first home eva, and found a nice place in Willagee, but want to know a bit more about whats its like, since ive only ever been around the Applecross/Mt Pleasant area or the Kingsley/Woodvale area.

Im looking at the suburb for its long term growth potential, but if anyone can give me any reasons why this wouldnt be the case im keen 2 hear.

Basically its my first home, im pretty confident, but I dont want to cock it up and live in some crack dealing suburb, or worse, near polony.

Aside from the premises mentioned by An Tron The majority of the North East pocket of the suburb bordered by Winnacott St to the west & Archibald St to the south is quite reasonable and 'safe' if you like. The rest of the suburb does have quite high numbers of state housing homes if that concerns you.

Willagee hasn't quite boomed yet as much as I'd have expected it too considering it's proximity to amenities, Perth & Fremantle.

Thats the logic im working on at the moment, you look at the neighbouring suburbs and what they sell for and im just kinda like : huh? why is it so cheap? Ive been driving around the suburb (albeit during the day) and I cant see anything wrong with it?

Learner drivers and riders dont bother me like it would some other people.

    A good way to check.
Call the RAC(home insurance)...ask them if there is a large number of break-ins for the area. If there are don't bother.

Having said that, I'm in Vic Park and some parts of it are better than others. I had a break in the first 6 months.
An alarm was installed shortly after and not a problem since (touch wood).
    That was 12 years ago.

Driven through and had a look?

We did one fine Autumn afternoon and the suburb was crossed of the rental list in short order. Stuffed if I'd be living there yet. Felt way too much like Nollamara/Balga and I was quite happy to be escaping from there.

Give it a few years for them to bleach it a bit first and it would be nice. Or take the punt, get a place, get a firearm and two dogs and rape, oops, reap, the profits if they ever come.

I have been living in Willagee for 9 years now.
House break-in x 3, car window smashed for loose change x 2, car stereo stolen x1 motorbike stolen x1, pack of abodiginals tore the sideview mirror off my car in alcoholic fit of rage x1.
The local lunch deli has award-winning home made pies, so its ok.
Had my pie stolen once though.
    haha
