XBOX or PS?

I'm an old fart who likes military style flight sims and PC games are now swamped by XBOX and PS games, so I'd better get one.

Problem is, which is best?

Not many flight sims though, personally I'd stick with a PC.

The other thing is a nice bluray player, a kiddie size controller, and has no Halo.

If you like flight sims you should be sticking to PC games.
Consoles do not offer flight sims with the detail that you will find on PC.
Also most games are better on PC.

If you must get a console, then PS3.

Today's consoles are now well and truly at least 1 or 2 generations behind PC's. With games now ported across are dumbed down in terms of visuals and extras. There is talk of the new Xbox 720 being announced sometime this year and Sony is rumored to be bringing out it's new console as early as next year. So my advice is think of it as a toy that will more then likely be un-used in 12 months time as the new generation is ushered in.

Depends on the game doesn't it.
For most normal games probably double the price of a console, for something that can do 20 times more things.
For high end games then it will be more, but again, the games are far better so you get what you pay for.
