Hurdles are the devil. Tried it once, did not end well. My manberries ( boyberries at the time ) thought they got roundhouse kicked.

I remember in high school, I finish my hurdles race, turn around to find the last girl summer saulting under neith them. Now that was funny.
depends on the height of the hurdles, the kiddy hurdles they run in schools here are easy compared to proper ones and once you trip on the first one and hurt yourself it all becomes so much harder.

Junior school: I <3 hurdles, they are like 30cm high
High School: WTF happened to these hurdles? someone accidentally switch them with elephant fences? At least they were on grass when I did them.

Did anyone else do skipping in primary school ? Because you went to a public school and they couldnt afford hurdles ??
Oh and skipping was worse because if you buggered up you got whipped and then have the rope wrap around your legs and then face plant because your still holding onto the rope.

I remember timing and leg length for hurdles practice in highschool
I was up representing my faction...700 students, teachers and parent looking on (luckily it was before the digital age)
Nerves screaming...bang goes the starter gun...(they were legal then) and I sprint off
