A lot of trust there obviously (On both sides.) There's a hell of a lot of skill involved in that 'just a wheelie' Jack!

No, no, fuck you jackerz. I said it first too so there nyer
In many unenlightened cultures (ie Saudi, USA etc) they aren't aware of the availability and potential value of gear. They never wear it, they learn to ride and stunt without it.
Many of them never get a scrape, either.

If noone's telling you every day "Wear a helmet or you'll die!" there's no fear in not wearing one.

Used to work in a medical centre so I know the answer to this one. Ironically, its because of previous head injury. Ergo, Mr X has had a head injury and due to a helmet applying pressure to his head, he cannot wear one.

Maybe not wearing any protective gear would make them less inclined to do something remarkably stupid or dangerous off the bat but rather hone thier skills in a "safe" and progressive way.
Thus making them a better rider and a better stunter.
(better than what, I'm not sure)
Besides; look how smooth, flat and clean the roads are.
What road near Perth is anywhere near that quality?

its a well proven point that if you tell someone that the car they are driving has airbags they take more risks driving.
Years ago in a bike mag a saw then do a test comparing times for 4 ppl around a track in full race gear and nude.
the ppl nude rode a lot slower. i wonder why??

Perth's roads in general are excellent. You're spoiled if you think otherwise. Go ride in Adelaide or Sydney and tell me we have shit roads.
*EDIT*
Yep - Agreed Bertie. I know within myself that's true... When I squid it I ride more like a nanna than usual... In full leathers I feel bulletproof.
