Tour De France - motorcycle dropped

Don't have footage, but did anyone else catch the motorcycle drop? Looks like he ran wide, caught the front in the muddy shoulder and down she went, pillion jumps off and Cadel Evans goes evasive to get past them. No one hurt, but pride will be a little bruised seeing it is beaming around the world!!

Yeah i saw the tail end of it during the race and missed it in the recap afterwards. Felt for the guy, but they get so close to the action i am surprised that there isnt more carnage.

it'll be all over the highlight reels tomorrow. What a great ride from Cadel. problems with chain. and to have to swap bikes with 20km to go and almost run into a dropped motorcycle.

felt for the motorcyclist as he was trying to pick up the bike all on his own.

All depends on the time trial now, and how much the yellow jersey gives Andy Schleck the motivation to do well in it. No one thought Vockler would have kept the yellow jersey once they hit the mountains yet he was able to pull out a lot of extra energy to keep it for so long.

just have to hope it isn't a repeat of 2008, remember Sastre was meant to be a shit time trialer as well and he pulled out a monster.

Good on Cadel, he got the win in the tour. Having watched the tour for many years, this year has been the best that I have seen him ride. I would say he is riding better during this tour than when he won the world championship a couple of years ago.

That was epic, after all that time in the mountains to come out with such a strong TT was impressive.

Awesome race. Might not have a donk in the frame, but that was mighty impressive.

Another 2 wheeled aussie champion! Now when you look up guts, strength and endurance in the dictionary, there will just be a picture of Cadel Evans.. You sir, are a dead set legend!

That ride in the final alps stage where he lost 2 mins due to mechanical problems and then had to do all the donkey work dragging along that group of nine to catch up was unreal.

Actually the final alps stage where he had mechanical problems he ended up losing no time. The stage before that was where he had to do the donkey work to pull back the Andy Schleck break away. Both efforts were pretty awesome.

How so? By stopping to swap bikes (after 2 previous attempts to repair his rear derailleur) he HAD to have lost time (unless everyone stopped and waited for him).

My understanding is he then made up that time to the leading group of Schlek and friends with another 8 riders in tow (none of whom really helped him out along the way. AFAIK this all occurred on the 19th stage (MODANE VALFRÉJUS >> ALPE-D’HUEZ)
