Cameron Elliott RIP 25/12/09

As Cams father this is the post I don't want to make.

Cameron has seriously injured himself after coming down in the basin. I was behind him and it was a very fast crash.

He has a head/brain injury that has resulted in him being placed in an induced coma. He has been transferred to the ICU at RPH and is in the best of care. Both Michelle and I are terrified at the moment ... but we have been advised to let the medical profession do their thing and then deal with each development as it arises.

The doctors have told us that it will be several days before we can get an understanding of the brain injury. He will be kept unconscious and ventilated to reduce brain swelling.

He has broken both bones in both forearms and broken a rib that also punctured a lung. His helmet took a hell of a hit and is cracked. The head injury was caused by the sudden deceleration.

He is a very fit healthy young man, so let's all pray that he recovers from this accident.

I will update as more information comes to hand.

Cam is a top young bloke, and is doing very well in his riding too.

Only went for a night ride with Cam just a few weeks ago.
