Hello Ozy.... I don't know you, nor did I know Marion.

But I'd still like to pay tribute to your clearly-missed and much-loved sister. Of the people I have seen taken by this disease, all show a defining character. In the face of adversity, they all show such remarkable courage and dignity.

I have no doubt your sister was the same. She is a heroine. Be proud of her.

This won't be of any comfort, but for what it's worth, I think I have at least a little understanding of what you're experiencing right now, as I watched my wife courageously battle this disease for six long years before slipping away on June 11th, 2008. Most probably like you, I began mourning for her even before she was gone.

Sadly, there is nothing I can say that will make your loss any easier. I wish there was. Unfortunately time is our only healer and it cannot be rushed.

Surround yourself with support, family, friends and remembrance. Cry when you need to. And don't be afraid or ashamed to get professional help if you feel you might need it. I did. But if ever something bothers you and you need an independent ear, don't be afraid to drop me a line.

Remember that while she may be gone for now, your lovely sister will never leave your heart.

Go easy on yourself, and take care.
