    RIP Des

The coroners report was handed down today, on my missing Uncle and his two mates that went missing from his boat off Queensland...

I come from a 'strained' extended family, and have learnt far more about my Uncle since he has been missing (which is quite sad really).

Derek wasn't a member of PSB, but I learnt that besides his love of boats, he also had a love for his bike, and I wished that we could have shared this with him, as my two brothers also ride.

Despite all my family's issues, I had fond memories of Derek, his 'Jack the lad' attitude, his stories of his shenanigans, and especially of his smile.

RIP Derek (Des), you would never have thought it, but you are truly missed.

Yes, RIP Des. Our neighbours are related to him (and probably you in that case).

Small world,(or is it just Perth) a friend of mine has married into the family and flew to QLD to carry on the search with the family when it was officially called off.

It's better to be thought stupid than open your mouth and remove all doubt

Pure speed in sixth gear on a 5,000 foot straightaway is one thing, but pure speed in third gear on a gravel-strewn, downhill, ess turn is quite another.
