Gordy, mate, I first met you under a bridge in Freo on a cold winter's night in 1999. I was whinging about the fact that my zx9R was too heavy to do a 2nd gear lift and you gave me one of those smirky smiles and said give me the keys and off you went and proved me wrong.
I also remember your fluffy pink and black gixxer 750, coming across a bridge, you standing up next to me, coming around a corner, still on one, me thinking is this guy the wheelie king or what.....
More recently the road between cervantes to jurien on the also Gero trip and the grins when we got to the end, I beleive the Z7 was on the stopper from go to whoa.... and who can forget your stunting on the rocks at Red Bluff in Kalbarri
I will miss you and your ways mate....
Ride on for eva dood!

A very sad day for Perth's motorcycling community.

Some of my best memories on two wheels was riding with Gordy and the furry Gixxer.
You'll be sorely missed mate.
Ride on.

The only man that can get 70000 km out of a front tyre.
Gordy aka fluffy, its a shame your website is no longer with us either, i loved reading those stories. As part of the original FNR crew many many years ago it is a shock to know i wont see your smiling face leaning against the rail at Scarbs.
You were not a legend in the motorcycle community you were a GOD.
Will always remember a very funny story about the real and iconic person you were. A young new rider came up to Gordy one night and asked him if he knew "Gordy". Gordy said yeah, i know him well, we go way back. The kid then proceeded to tell him about Gordys amazing wheelies and how they rode together and were mates. Gordy just stood there and listened. Little did that kid know he was talking to the great man himself.... Gordy then turned to me and said "do you know that kid because i havent got a clue"?
If you never had the pleasure of knowing Gordy you certainly knew about him and it was everyones claim to fame to say "yeah, i know Gordy" whether that be true or not...
Will ride again one day my friend.

Truely shocked at this news - Gordy was a unique biker and friend to all.
You have left me some indelible memories such as the trackday where we duked it out for quite a few laps before you tried to outbrake me into turn 7 and rode wide into the pit lane - finally got you I thought - naw you then jumped the bike two wheels airborne back onto the track to get alongside me for yet another big ball brake effort into turn 1,
As far as our country rides there are just too many stories that involve Gordy antics - like getting ahead of us on the gnarly back roads he knew so well then hiding till we passed and bushwacking us from behind
Will miss you mate RIP

I did not know Gordy well.
My first real introduction to the Perth motorcycling scene was through the bike bays in Scarborough on a Wednesday and Friday night. A regular character at these gatherings was Gordy. It was weeks before I actually said anything to him. I don’t know why, but that was just Gordy. He seemed to remain apart from most people, while at the same time being surrounded by them.
The trip to Geraldton was an eye opener for me, because after just being a part of the pack on the way up, while the rest of us posed on the rocks just south of Kalbarri, here’s this guy on a Z750 and shiny silver helmet doing burnouts in the salt puddles, wheelies on rough, rocky ground, and riding down to the water’s edge only to turn and race a wave back up the rocks. He just wanted to ride and have fun. That was Gordy. Then, we left the rocks, out of nowhere this bald man of quiet demeanour launched a stand-up wheelie and proceeded to navigate a bend in the road and slow down, all while looking like it was the easiest thing in the world. PRICK!
Then, when we got separated from the pack and saw a cop car going the same way as us up ahead, to kill time he wheelied along side me at 100, just cos he could.
He was almost always ready with a funny comment or witty reply. His FNR webpage was a tribute to riding with mates as well as a tongue-in-cheek finger at the WA police traffic department. Woefully under-braked, under-powered “taxis with disco lights” that were to be shown the same disregard and contempt as any other WA road user.
His red Z750 was always a talking point, as it slowly underwent several changes or disguises, firstly with a black paint job, then a SUZUKI sticker on the tank, then the rebadging of it as a KHUNT. I just once would have liked to have heard a police radio call saying they were in pursuit of “a rider on a black khunt”.
I did not know him well, but I am glad I knew him.
RIP, Gordy.
