i spoke to him at lunch and he told me "this is the best ride i've ever been on. thanks". that is the only consolation i can get - he was doing what he loved with some great friends and having a ball.

i only had the priveledge of knowing russ for a short time, but what a good time it was. RIP buddy. the world is a much poorer place for having lost you.

i'm sure that wherever he is now, he'll be giving the 10% of people that don't know him the shits, and making the 90% that do know him love him even more.

edit: if i can do anything for anyone to help even a tiny bit - you just have to let me know

I don't ride a bike, but I worked with Russ for two years. He kept me sane and helped me get through the day. He was a fine man and a truly loyal friend. Such a complete tragic waste. Russ, I'll miss you mate and we'll always remember you.

Heartfelt condolences to his family and to Sarah.

We were lucky to have known such a beautiful person as Russ
So beautiful that God missed him
And called him back to his side
May he always live in our hearts and minds

People, please learn from this experience and don’t let this precious young life be lost in vain.

Remember that the joy in life is derived by the journey itself, not by the destination and how fast you can get there. Slow down and take the time to enjoy the wonder and excitement of the journey along the way, lest you arrive at your final destination way sooner than you intend.

I know you are all sad and mourning the loss of someone so special, but don’t get so caught up in the grieving and the mourning that you forget to celebrate a wonderful person and a wonderful life. Be thankful daily that you had the privilege of knowing and sharing with such a special and unique person.

Jesus. Just got back form a trip down south to read this. What a smash to the chest this is.

Russ...man always remember the massive smile and laugh you brought to school every day. Didnt know you that well, but man no one can forget your smile and good nature. Used to wait in line that bit longer to ensure you served me at the local bottleshop.
Cant believe how bad this last few months has been.

RIP mate...

Dave
