As per title AP is in dire need of fresh meat

If you are interested in riding a motorcycle for a job and meet the following requirements

* You must be aged 15 years or over.
* You must NOT have previously accepted a redundancy package from Australia Post.
* You must be eligible to work in Australia (demonstrated by photo identification and proof of Citizenship or Residency: Birth Certificate, Passport)
* You must have completed at least 3 years of Secondary Education (eg. at least Year 9 or the equivalent).
* You must be willing to attend initial assessment where your photo will be taken to accompany your application and weight checked for PDO motorcycle roles = 90kg limit
* You must be willing to have a medical and fitness assessment and meet all standards that apply to Australia Post jobs. In particular, you must be able to lift up to 16kg in weight. You will be medically assessed once you have completed the selection process.
* You agree to sign a criminal history record check consent form as part of the selection process. Criminal convictions will not necessarily preclude employment.
* You must provide a minimum of two contactable employment referees
* You must attend an Australia Post interview
* You must provide relevant driving or motorcycle licence where required
* You agree to sign a confidentiality agreement if employed by Australia Post.
* You must have suitable transport arrangements, preferably a driver's licence and your own vehicle to get to and from work, as public transport is not always available at particular shift commencement and finishing times.

I have been in this position for 8 years now and like with all jobs it has its ups and downs... best part is being finnished before midday ... to do whatever you like.

So if you want to get in as an employee of AP and not some recruitment agency casual then please PM me
and i will do my best to hook a brother (or sister as the case may be) up.

Don't mean to put a dampener on it, but I've been with aussie post since May 2006, I'll be leaving at the end of March 2007 to go for further traingin and in search of work as a commercial Pilot. Aussie post has always been looking for new blood, they will always be looking for new blood. ONly difference between now and say, 5 years ago, is that they WILL employ you ieven if you do not have your R-E / R-N license, but have learners. Ots a great way to exploit the system and get them to pay for UPTO $250 of lessons (everything else including your learners permit you can claim on tax with no problems aslong as you have reciepts and they're all dated after ou tartd work for AP as a PDO [Postal Delivery Officer]). Its one of the 2 reasons I joined, a "free" R-E licensee aswell as money to save for my further training in aviation.

If you ever jump on a SkyWest flight and you know its me, come say hello BEFORE the flight, and regardless of the CASA regulations of the time I'll show you around.

EDIT: Great way to learn awesome slow riding skills. Not the crap you have to do for you R-E / R class(es) alot slower and tougher, don't pass it by as a "friverless exercise" whether in AP or outside of the company

The main difference now is you can get a postie job straight off with AP and not a recruitment agency like Ready group. And once your employed with AP its alot harder for them to let you go unlike when u contract thru recruitment agency's. That also means long service leave, holidays and sicky's are also accrued quicker... All the reasons why we work for Government regulated organisations

Yeh I totally understand that, as I was a directly employed worker, no recruitment agency involved, just got a "Want to be a Postie" flyers in the mail one day and thought a good excuse to get my R-E that I'd always wanted but never had the motivation / inclination to get. So happy I went after th job now though

This sounds awesome. Pretty much exactly what I'm after right now. Only problem is that I'm over 90kg. Good reason to lose a bit though. It said 90 fully clothed, but what would could as fully clothed for them?

We have a position going at the CDC advertised only today for any interested transfers within Aussie Post. You can kiss overtime goodbye though, my PDO's start squealing like stuck Pigs if Primary isn't finshed by 7:30am.

we have been struggling the last couple of weeks, PDOs on leave 1 team leader gone overall been 5 short and seems most centres the same, well thats what we have heard and we havent had much luck getting any reliefs so been doing long days, getting mealies everyday though..........you would think AustPost would try harder to get more PDOs and give us that pay rise

& DOCWA
