Family Law Barrister needed

I need a good family law barrister (prefer barrister over lawyer), pref female if possible.

Its to do with well, family law stuff, custody and all that ...

Rully urgent too ... as I am deploying to Middle East on 18 Oct .. and I am leaving perth on Saturday ..

Thanks everyone for your help.

I have been in contact with a good lawyer (the one Insane suggested) ..

so far he seems pretty switched on and I am happy with the "in reality this what we have to do and can do" responce that he game me after explaining the situation.

I can not tell you all how much I appricieate all your help and thoughts. Its going to be a long hard road but always worth it!

+1, well, kinda the opposite really. My dad, despite living with us, had sfa to do with me and Im still bitter about it. Children need the influence of both parents hence the +1 part of this post.

First up, sorry to hear you've joined the club.
Just so you know, no matter what agreement you get in place,
the Family Law Court will NOT back you up.
If the mother decides that she wants to make your access difficult,
they will not do a damm thing besides eventually slap her wrist.
You WILL be treated like a criminal by Social Security.
This is not hearsay, I speak from experience.

I will keep those on me, if the need comes up to change, I will speak to my father (power of attorney) while im overseas ... he can make an informed choice from then on ...

And 19Andrew59 & others, I hear what your saying, Im expecting the hard slog through it all but Im never loosing focus and the harder they make it the more focused and determined I become! - ie. I just got back from being away for 2 days to see my girl (all up I got 1 hour of total quality time) which was hard fought (tooth and nail) with the in-laws and ex ... but the 733km drive return, 9 hour drive, cost for accom, food, fuel and lawyer guidance was all worth it for this one hour of pleasure.

Agree, family court are totally out of control and away from reality

I was paying $550 a week CS the mortgage, and 1/2 the bills for 9 months!

BUT Karma has a strange way of playing out life mate

Make sure you keep a record of all your dealings with the mother, in laws, child support, etc.
Even if you write notes in a diary, they are admissable in court. Record names, times and content of conversations, etc. It's a pain in the arse sometimes, but if I'd done it sooner, I'm sure my outcome would have been a little more palatable.
