    I need money for bikes

I have my FZR up for sale, which I love to bits. All because I need money for my Tenere.

The reason for this is cause I cant get a loan. In 2003, an EX decided to book up a heap of shit in my name and FK off to Paris, which left me with a bill I didnt know about and a black mark on my credit rating. As soon as I found out I paid it ALL and I have tried to get it taken off but with no success.

If anyone can help me I would be ecstatic. I am earning a damn good wage and I have NO DEBT (no CC) hardly any bills (work pays phone, car and fuel) SO PLEASE HELP ME.

Someone here surely is a banker/loan-shark/agent/ and can help.

    I want this bike.

To top it off, I'd buy Benny's FZR600 straight away if I had the money for it. Anyone wanna buy a GPX250 right now?

Rather tempted to do the outback tour as well, I've already got an XR650R that would lap that up.

One owner. Only driven gently on Sundays. Sold to best offer. First to see will buy. Reward offered for safe return. Coming soon to a cinema near you. Available for a limited time only.

My waterbed broke this morning. Oh, I don't have a waterbed. Bugger.

since it was almost 5 years ago your bad credit will "disappear" this year

also as long as it was paid out more than 1 year ago (make sure your credit rating shows the debts as having been paid out, might pay to get a copy of your credit rating) you should be able to get "secured" finance, albeit at a slightly higher rate. Brokers are probably your best bet before your credit rating is clear again. (ie Revit)

Secured finance would be a lower rate than unsecured.

If you want to look at your credit file ( I assume you already have) you can order it from My Credit File - Veda Advantage

Bennysthe1, if you haven't had any luck PM me your email address and phone number and I will see if I can help.

correct secured is generally cheaper than unsecured, however "bad credit" secured is generally more expensive than "good credit" secured.

"bad credit" unsecured is generally non existent (but you MAY be lucky)

Careful - IIRC the accessing of your credit file affects your credit file

    This man speaks the truth.

So, get this. My wife (whose earning capacity out-strips mine by a great deal) was denied a new mobile phone plan from Optus after they checked her credit file.

We requested a copy of the report. That month we had a bunch of requests for her file because we were shopping around for a new home loan. What. The. Fuck?

It clearly stated that she's basically a golden credit goose and has always been good for money, but because we'd been looking for a home loan she was suddenly unable to get a $50 a month phone plan? It's a touch fucking stupid.

Cam: That's where a broker comes in handy. They access the info once, then pass it on to the financial institutions. Saves having multiple enquiries
In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

Yup, went with a broker in the end mate.

Just stuns me that multiple access = automatic fail? The report is crystal clear and it's blatantly obvious that there's approximately zero risk involved.

    Frustration, bah humbug

In that case you should be able to easily save up the money to buy it outright and forget about donating your hard earned cash to the banks/loan sharks

I think its just a case of your wife's account being flagged as potentially dodgy as they think "hang on, this birds trying to get a heap of loans so lets watch her for a while".

Five seconds looking at the file would immediately show the facts however.

On topic though, have you spoken to Ian at Rev-it yet? I had a chat to him today about some other stuff and he's really switched on, very helpful.

Not if you order it yourself, only if someone actually does a check on it.

Having a lot of checks on there will not rule you out from getting finance, it just means whoever is doing the application needs to mitigate it well when it goes before the sanctioners. I have had many deals approved which have been declined by other people...

Not always, quite often banks will do their own check.

See my above post, just depends who does the application, how much experience they have, and whether they "sell" it well to the people upstairs who say yay or nay. There is a lot of inexperience in the finance/banking industry as turnover is quite high. I get a lot of people coming to me for home loans and I refer them straight to a broker who I used to work with, as I know she will be around in the long term and give them good service, lenders at most bank branches tend not to hang around long term!

automated credit checkers aren't that smart, often in the mobile phone industry they don't bother "referring" to humans and just say fugoff.

as for loans, the automated systems usually come back as "refer" if it looks suspect for any reason, and a human will either see something in the pattern that tells them yay or nay (based on experience).
