    Hi, my name is Gavin.
Just getting a feel out there for anyone interested in a motorcylcle engineering service I have just opened. Been around a while, previously worked in bike trade for 11 years, now doing it for myself. Am able to offer lathe, milling and specialised tig welding of all metals. Custom fabrication of - triple clamps and handle bar risers, rearsets, engine covers and mounts, disc carriers, light weight aluminium axles, screens and huggers, swingarms, brackets, air boxes, handlebar end weights, crash knobs and ride-height adjusteres to name a few.
Let your imagination run wild, I'll have a go at anything. Any custom mods including street fighter conversions are my speciality.
Also offer full engine building service done in-house including hot ups, portwork etc. Also offer full engine building service done in-house including hot ups, portwork etc.
For a personal touch, something different or just downright weird. Maybe you can't buy it. I may be able to help.

might have to come have a chat with you soon...

one thing - can you do (or can you get done) engineering certification so that modified vehicles can be examined for registration?

do you have much 2-stroke experience?
    cheers

p.s. you can also put a post in the "network neighbourhood" section of the forum.

    hey mate!

i am looking for a shorter wishbone for the rear shock linkage on my fireblade sreetfighter i am building, not too much shorter, bu i need to jack the rear up a little bit...... got an underseat exhaust going on now, and the gap between the subframe and the tyre is on the small side, so to be safe, i need the whole lot up a bit!

shouldn't have thought it would be a hard piece to make.... hopefully.....

there are at least two of us looking for the same peice, as you can buy the lowering linkages out of the states, but not one to raise it.....

    Mmmm super phat indeed.

If you are still around in 4 or 5 months I will come see you about mounting some R6 parts (forks, subframe, tank etc) onto an old rz350. Im never going to get around to doing it myself so may as well pay someone to do it for me!

Thanks for the interest. The best way is to get it certified by an automotive engineer after you mod. it. In my experience with modified bikes at the pits it usually ends up with "wow, nice bike". Then "see you later mate no worries". If this bike was previously rego'd as an RZ 250 you won't have any hassles getting it registered again if thats the case.
As far as 2 strokes go, I worked at 4 Yamaha dealers in my time as a mechanic. In that time if I had a buck for every RZ/RD/TZR/RG/RGV/MXER I ever worked in I'd be retired in the Bahamas.
Im in Ballajura at a residential address. If you want to talk further you can call on 0409104370.
PS: If that's your bike in the Pic nice job
    PPS: Whatcha mean "Network Neighbourhood"

    Hi Bulbous,
    Thanks for the interest.
Lots of ways to skin a cat, relocate shock mount, ride height adjuster, pitch adjusters on the subframe, suspension link fettling, CT 90 wheels....Or a combination thereof.
Doesn't sound too hard, definately cheaper if you want more than one. This sort of thing gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. Give me a call on 0409104370. Look forward to talking with you.

Hmmm RZ6!?* Now your talking! Good choice of bike to have a go at and good choice of hardware for the fit out. Don't tease yourself too long, you'll go cross eyed.

How are you. Whatever way you go I'll be able to help. There will definately be an easier or cheaper path to go down depending on what you want combination wise. Things like disc adapters, wheel spacers etc are fairly finite parameters once you sort a few geometry issues out such as alignment and offset. Can't see it being a big drama. Other thing is matching sprocket pitch and overall drive ratio. Can get me anytime on 0409104370. Look forward to talking to you.

Yeh chuck the plastic in the bin, it only breaks when you get off it! Less is more in the hip pocket and maintenance wise. Give us ayell if you need any help/advice.
