Can you build me a fuel tank?

Now that would make life easier

Easier and cheaper to get one second hand. If it is a special fit I can modify it.

Heh, not for this damn bike.....

ZXR-250A, my tank is pretty rusted along the bottom seam, haven't put the sealant kit in just yet (Need a spare weekend), and there are microcracks all over the bottom of the tank.

I have found a couple of tanks here, but both were $220-250, and both had big dents, and just as much rust as my tank.

The only other one I have found was in QLD, and they wanted $440, including shipping, and it was also unpainted, and in whatever condition it arrives in.

One other option I was looking at was cutting the bottom plate out and welding in a new plate, how hard would something like that be to do? The top of the tank is in damn good condition, no scratching or anything like that on the outside, just surface rust inside, but the bottom looks like Bulbous's ass after a night at CAD's place (All brown, crusty and uneven, and cant hold fluid anymore).

Could also get the top of the tank bead blasted once the bottom was cut off it too then

Yeh they all suffer the same fate eventually. Can make a new bottom if it's not too complex geometry wise, most tanks have 'stamped' bottoms that are then seam welded. paint will suffer to some degree when welded. Try these if u haven't already

just curious, but what would you charge to build a fuel tank, completely to my design? i'm debating getting one built to my specs. more room 18L not 15L, fitted to the frame properly and built to fit flush with my ram-air. it's for a cbr400rr. essentially a larger cbr250rr
