If only I'd had of known 3 weeks ago.. I've been trying to get in to the mining sector for over 12 months.. but no one will give a 'green horn' a start..

Even elmoh put a good word in for me up at his site.. I didn't mind doing fifo..

But i took this bloody job with a brokerage down here.. ( cant quit now.. it pays alright )

I'll keep it in mind should I not pass my probation of 3 months..

My old man has 17 years experience in the mining industry and is struggling to get back in. Signed up with QFS and MACA. Was expected to go to Jack Hills but kept getting fucked around so is now working for Top Dog Personnel doing construction work. I know what you mean but most of the time mine sites are screaming for experienced people rather than anyone who wants to get started.

Mining can be extremely dangerous for green people which is why most sites try and keep them to minimum at any one time.

$24 an hour they pay 0r just over 70k a year

Monodelphus, FMG, TCC if you can put up with hour's and weeks away.. then the mining world is your oyster.. for now..

E.G.. Mono's TA's are spotting for welders, and grinding bits here and there and you'll clear over 2200 a week (dayshift) 2900 nightshift.. qualifications... umm none.. BUT again it's long days, hot work etc... not for some.. You'll also have to set up your own accomodation but they sub ya for that.. OH and ya have to like working with a shiet load of KIWI'S

Hell Peggy's(female cleaners) are on over two a week aswell for cleaning crib rooms and detailing cars..

Again it's who ya know... but it will eventually get tighter.. then will become what ya have..
