    Plasterer

Is anyone here a plasterer or know a plasterer.

My partner and I are putting our house on the market and need some plastering done.

I just need a doorway patched. When we bought the house there was a door already in that closes off the front of the house from the rest of the house, this was not built there when the house was originally built. The door frame was wood and covered in plaster to hold it together, basically it looked shit so I've pulled it out. The original paint was still under there and the corners are in reasonable condition and the coving is still intact.

I can post a few pictures if you need to see the rough idea of what I'm talking about.

    DIY?

Decent size trowel, use pre-mixed Gyprock Jointing Cement (easy to work with), throw down a rough layer to work from, then build it up...

Awesome skill to pick up. If you can do a doorframe you'll be able to repair cracks, holes in walls etc piece of piss...

Plus it's not a desperately physically demanding job you've described. Just requires patience, time and an eye for "square". Means you can be industriously working away at that whilst the missus lugs furniture

I wish I had the time to do it because as you said it would be a handy skill to have, I've got so much to do around the place to get it ready and I've still got to go to work plus I didn't put the door frame in it was done before we bought it.
