you, of course, wouldn't be re-gassing with HCFC gas (i.e. 22 or 134a) without checking for leaks and fixing them first?

hey Wackster can you give me an average cost to do a service on an Evap????
cheers

I'm working on restoring a 1930's fridge.. it's one of the old pull bar types.. you know, like your granny used to have...
cools well, but I'm guessing that the cast iron compressor might be needing some more gas ( or a flush and replace )..
I'm working on the front door ( cutting the rust and sanding ) then will have her repainted..
Can you work on such antiques ?

you know what they're worth dude ?
some are selling for like $2000 in good condition.. numpty ! hahahahaha
cools well, gets nice and cold - and my missus nanna ( who gave it to me ) couldnt ever figure why it iced up, then ran nonstop on the compressor..
Turns out - the non existant door seals.. ( gotta be around 60+ years old ) had perished..
and the compressor, which is cast iron ( and weighs about 20 kilo ) was off balance on it's 4 spring suspension system.. gotta love oldschool engineering..

interesting for sure , does teh compresor still run ?, yeah my old one just froze everything .....but used as a bar fridge the door was used as a thermostat being open most of teh time..lol.
is it a service you are after or modernisation of unit , (or both) either way will make such a beautiful unit run more efficient for many years , great find though , those old units are just brilliant.

Gutsy question. You're a shark. Sharks are winners, and they don't look back because they have no necks. Necks are for sheep.

Hey Chris,
How much for a car regas (98 AU Falcon)?
Pump comes on, makes a whirring noise. Brief spurt of cold and then nothing.
