    Hi Folks,

Does anyone have any contacts with anyone who has a truck with a forklift on the back?

    Thanks
    Rob

    Hey Rob,

I have a few contacts in the industry mate, but none with the setup you require.

Can I ask what your trying to do? How long will you need it for?

There's lot of different type reach trucks these days, I operate and train people in all of them so I may be able to help you another way.

Could you make do with a trolley jack + tail lift truck? What are you trying to move?

We use Kings Transport, thier rates aren't too bad.

In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

Basically the company I work for delivers pallets 1200x1200x2000 (400kg) high full of plastic products to building sites. It takes far to long to hand unload. The problem is that most building sites are sand so it needs to be a tractor forklift or a bobcat with forks. Because of the height of the pallets using a hiab with a sligh it too hard and takes too long.

Normally we used to just deliver to the customers depot but increasingly we need to deliver to site

Okay, you'll be very lucky to find a forklift company with one of these setups and the type you speak of don't come in 12 tonners. You'll have to go for a semi if you want a 4wd fork of somekind, all of the types are huge and I think overkill for your job.

Do you have to just put it at the front of the site? (normal practice)

Brick's are usually the only product that is placed near where it is required so I'm sure a two wheel drive fork will do this job, they are available at quite a few truck hire mobs but not fork hire mobs.
