Ok, Following up on the multitude of PSB'ers in the Kalamunda Shire I thought it may be a good time to ask if anyone has ever had a burning (Bad Pun) desire to volunteer their time to a (another) worthy cause?

The Kalamunda Bush Fire Brigade is looking for new recruits to help the Hills community when in need. The basics are that you'll be trained in the fine arts of putting wet stuff on red stuff and meet some great people in the process. Age, gender, race, religion isn’t a concern (unless your really young) and there are positions in active fire fighting and communications/support rolls. You just need to be medically fit and committed to a good cause.

If you’re interested drop me a PM, come down on a Sunday morning and check out what we do or have a look at the website for some more details on what we get up to. Kalamunda BFS

    Cheers

Well we used to have 4 (Only two now one was canned two became the VBFS and the other became the VFRS), The bush fire brigade is one of the bigger single stations in the state and there are the VFRS guys (Townies) who look after the vehical rescue and the majority of the structural fires. (We have better BBQ's tho )

And yes the area seems to invite pyros from all over the state.

Compartment fires? Wheres the fun in putting out a fire in an enclosed space, much more fun chasing one moving at 20km's an hour.
