Work in the mines

Howdy all those who work in the mines.

My sister has been making enquires about driving dump trucks (I gather this means something to you), and has been looking into doing a course. The cost of the course though is nearly $3000. A few people she knows have suggested that many of the mines train you on site so there is no need to do a course.

Also, what are the best FIFO options as she has two school aged children.

Can anyone offer advice, or alert me to work opportunities that I can refer on to her.

Edit: just read the dedicated mining recruitment thread - hopefully the contact dets mentioned in the thread are still current as I will refer those on to my sis.

Any other suggestions/advice still appreciated.
