It's with great sadness that I put all of my gear and motorbike up for sale. I've had many a good time on this bike, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment on it. The reason for sale is that I am moving to Redmond, Washington for work and there's no point in importing a bike from Australia when I can just buy one there. I will be using the money to move to America.
This thread will contain full disclosure information regarding the bike, to the best of my knowledge. I fixed a lot of things the previous owner should have fixed, and since it hurt my hip pocket so much, I would never wish that upon anyone buying a used bike. This bike is in excellent mechanical condition, and pretty good cosmetic condition.
The bike:
PSB price: $4500 ONO
- 2k3 ZZR250
- ODO: 32,xxx (If it doesn't sell by the time it reaches 33,000 (next oil change) then I intend not to ride it after that.
- Crack in fairing next to RHS indicator (v. small) from original owner.
- Scratches on RHS muffler from original owner.
- Scratches near indicator on RHS fairing from v. low speed drop (slow O-turn gone wrong).
- Scratches near bottom of fairing from a stationary drop on RHS fairing.
- A few scuff marks on the seat and a couple of scratches on the tank from normal use. Tank has a tank protector.
- JUST rego'd a few days ago for another 6 months.
- Insurance FYI: $600pa full comprehensive w/ WQBE, 23yo male rider, full NCB.
- Comes with everything I ever bought for the bike (chain lube, remaining oil, accessories, bike cover, etc.)
- Double bubble eagle windshield.
Service history:
Owner and Service manual was lost in the sale from the old owner. One can be purchased from Kawasaki for a reasonable price.
First owner serviced the bike quite well. Daily rider, put 21,000kms on it when he sold it. Second owner did not service the bike very much in the year he had it, put 3,000 kms on it.
Meticulously serviced both by myself and Derek Ball, anything that needed replacing got replaced. I've only ever had starting issues with it once, and that was fixed by replacing the battery (full details
here).
- New battery
- New chain and sprockets
- Tyres last replaced at 23,500 kms - so about 1/2 worn tyres (I ride a lot). Would last an average 250 rider until the next sale - and then some.
- Oil changed every 2500-3000 kms. Recommended 5,000 or 10,000, depending on who you ask, but both Derek and I thought 2500kms was better.
- Replaced the brake lever when it was dropped. Bike has remained upright since.
- Front brake pads replaced at 25,000 kms. Rear brake pads 30-40% worn.
- All fairing screws present and accounted for at last inspection.
- Minor and major service by Derek Ball (25,000 kms & 30,500 kms). Service history can be provided by Derek Ball at request (if you say certain key words regarding this bike he'll know exactly which bike you're talking about). Last time I saw him he gave it a clean bill of health. I can provide 2 out of the 3 invoices I received from Derek Ball on sale - the third got soaked in Coke and died.
