put it this way, my first fortnight i cleared nearly 2k... it obviously varies depending on the hours you work. You get all kinds of allowances and penalties so it's a bit hard to go into...

Hmmmm indeed.
So what sort of hours do YOU work? Are you paid by the hour or by the amount of mail you deliver or what?

ok i'll break it down for you. I start at 5am. I'm on a "salary" of approx 36k pa. But if i break it all down for you, my base rate is approx $18/hr. If you start before 6:30am which everyone does, you get 15% loading on this base rate for the whole day. This takes the base rate up to about $21.60. Now, they give you a certain amount of time to get your job done, for example on a monday you've got 6am - 2:30pm to do it, however i start at 5 so it changes to 1:30pm... but I never finish till like 3ish, so i get paid 1.5x that $21.60 for 1:30 - 3pm. Because i've done more than an hour overtime, I also get a $14.50 tax free meal allowance... so yeh, if that makes it any easier (or harder) to understand hahaha

Christmas work is ballistic for posties. If you can see thunder and hear lightning they will take you.

Better talking to Chandler McLeod. Australia Post would point you in the right direction.

Looked this up a while back, kinda a dream job, gettin paid to ride around on a motorcycle. I also read somewhere that you need an unrestricted licence for a minimum of 2 years as a requirement. Don't see why for a CT110, but is this enforced? Cause I'd be ruled out if so . . .

Which delivery centre has the jobs going? And is it possible to just work Mondays and Fridays? I postied over christmas so I know how it all works. I'd love to go back to it but when I called around a few weeks ago all the metro DC's were fully staffed.

yeah right Im a relief and the amount of travelling I was doing to different DC's after helping out at my DC at Walliston was making me a small fortune as they were short all over the place but then again I have been off for the last 3 weeks after my motorcycle accident so guess could have changed but the way things were I very much doubt it
Hey if you apply to become a postie, help current Posties out if you know someone tell Aust Post that they recommended you, there is a very worthy spotting fee for that Postie if you stay for 6 months
