AWTK - 8mm Ally diamond plate or 6mm Steel checker plate?

G'day ladies and gentlemen of PSB,

Does anybody have a lead (read cheap) on either of the following (ballpark 2 off 1300mm x 605mm)?

8mm Ally diamond plate

6mm Steel checker plate

My preference is for the ally, this bloody service bench frame is heavy enough as it is.

Robert Cameron had sheets of the ali stacked up against one of their walls when I was last there and they sell part lengths.
