    Righto...

Lets say you where interested in buying a new (or second hand) car and you where willing to pay about 65k..

    1. Would you buy new or second hand?
    2. What would YOU look for in the car? (safety, handling, performance, looks..??)

Standard Dubs rules apply, no flaming or post whoring.. This is your every day car we are talking about, not a dream car...

    Go to it...

For me, and I have looked around lately.. http://network.news.com.au/image/0,10114,5231912,00.jpg
MY07 GT Liberty Spec B (Brand New, not second hand) http://subaru.com.au/explore/liberty/
    184 kW
    All wheel drive, sedan
    Black, with leather interior
For performance, handling and safety, I'm not sure you can any better than this, my opinion only.. Just think a BMW with the same handling and performance, is twice the cost...

Now some will say that buying a new car is not worth it, as it looses value as soon as it leaves the show room. But is there any better feeling than buy some thing new..??

    And now my car...

Darn it man - as soon as i saw car choice i went straight for the website with the exact same car you posted - didnt see it until i read your post fully. So no point posting !
I would go buy a brand new Liberty GT B-Spec.
And i would buy new to get the warranty and that new feeling.
Oh and you would know that nobody has thrashed it/trashed it.
    Subaru Liberty all the way.

Jason, as soon as you get that weapon, you go see Steve Wisby at Maximum Motorsport, Malaga, for a Butler exhaust, MRT intake and a ECUTEK 3 dynoed (query injectors depending on duty cycle and turbo upgrade if you really wanna go nuts) and you will be so happy you'll never ride your bike again (for a few months anyway).

Great choice, When I had my my03 rex (after the 2.5 went in, big turbo and Steve played around, the thing was mad fun) the hit in the back at 4K was nuts and it pinned ya to redline.

For $65K I would have had a serious look at a R34 V-spec 2, this time maybe speedworx, spend $6 or soK on her and she would also be a very nice toy, but that is a different kind of car, yours is performance but class too.

    Enjoy you bastard!

    +1 for the evo 9.

Gives supercars 6-7 times more expensive a run for their money in terms of performance, both straight line speed and round the twisties.

A fully funtional 4 door 5 seater and completely usable boot space. Its basically all you could want in terms of practicality and functionality.

Go and test drive one then decide. I was sold immediately after the tach needle swung past 3k till the 8k+ redline.

Oh did I forget to mention that it sticks to the road like glue. You'd seriously gotta be pretty daft to lose control of a machine like that.

Yeh but you seriously cant be happy driving an EVO9 everyday? The liberty is best of both worlds - it is very very comfortable but quick as well. The EVO is a purpose built vehicle that really doesnt leave much room for comfort.

Call me weird but I'd trade up comfort for performance anyday. The more raw the ride, the more I enjoy it. If I had the $$ the exige would be my daily driver.

I did take the liberty sti out and it didnt really hit that note like the evo did. Plus the liberty makes me feel like im driving a '40yo, married with 3 kids and wife wouldnt allow him nice toys of his own' kinda car.

Audi A4... it would look pretty next the bike and would cage my ass around in comfort.

else a F6 Typhoon with a couple minor tweaks... something about 300kw+ @ wheels that screams bogan fun.

    2002 E46 BMW M3 Man. - might be a bit toight for 65k
    or
2002 E39 BMW M5 Man. - MMMM V8 and the sedan body really accelerates the depreciation

2003 Porsche Boxster S Man. - But then you would look like just another stockbroker

Modified: Supra Aerotop Twin Turbo or the R34 Skyline.

But, since I got the bike, I actually havn't really been interested in cars (this from a person whos first thing they ever read aloud to their parents at age 3 was a billboard that said "Its a nissan" , and can identify nearly every car on the road from almost any angle. )

Sexcellant choice on the Libertius though, managed to convince my old man to get one 4 years ago and they are magnificant autos .

.... this time maybe speedworx .......
    [/b]
no offense mate, but i wouldn't let the monkeys down at speedworx tune a fresh turd i just laid on their chest...... they fucked my mates race engine over and over again due to sheer incompetence, then when the engine got sent away, the new mob went to town over the shoddy workmanship and the parts that didn't even fit properly...... nice way to shed three heads and a block, just to find that shit out......

for the money, i would love to get my hands on a kit Cobra, and spend my time putting the thing together myself...... nice big V8 in the engine bay, go to town on the small details, work the interior....... something ballsy, but also classy......

otherwise i would go down to American Autos and look at the 1958 Chevy Belaire with the big block V8...... that looks sweet, comfy, and well cruisy...... i don't need speed in a car, got that with my bikes......
