Five disc 'Final cut' edition is supposed to be out soon. I've *got* to have that shit.

Will be sitting down to watch Catch A Fire tonight, hopefully it's decent.

Watched "Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain" (aka Amelie) the other night.
linky

Great foreign film, wonderful characters, quirky screenplay and some nifty special effects.

oh yeah and I also recommend Pans Labyrinth by Guillermo Del Toro.

Another fantastic International film with some truley awesome special effects, in some scenes it was difficult to distinguish reality from fantasy.
A fairly bizzare movie but an excellent watch.

Japanese Sci-fi 1989

I don't think the IMDB synopsys really does it justice, but here it is:

Brooklyn's smuggling companions are slaughtered, sometimes violently, one by one as they wantonly defy the security systems of the Kyron-5. Babe falls into a vat of green liquid and becomes a cybernetic antagonist. Brooklyn is placed under arrest by Sergeant Nim, who suggests they follow surviving children Seven and Eleven. The Kyron-5 declared war on humanity, and killed most of those living on the island. Brooklyn, a mechanic, must overcome his fear of cockpits and command the Gun UNit/Heavy Elimination Device to the heart of the Kyron-5.

Just finished watching Man of the Year starring Robin Williams as a comedian who runs for president......and gets elected.

fantastic movie. Heaps of comical genius intertwined with current political issues that Michael Moore, Jon Stewart and the daily Show and many others that my currently intoxicated mind cannot think of currently.

A great film to sit down with the family and watch. Robin William at his usual brilliance.

Check out "Smokin Aces" on DVD

I passed on it a couple of times when my brother offered it because it has Ben Affleck in it. I checked it out after hearing he gets wacked not too far into it ...The film has a bit of a "Snatch" and "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" flavor to it. I'd give it a 4 out of 5

To quote from IMDB

"A dying mob boss takes out a $1 million contract on the life of his former protégé, a Vegas magician turned gangster who has agreed to testify against the mob. The FBI attempts to protect their key witness as an array of hit men and women descend on Lake Tahoe in a race to take the magician out."

SiCko (or however its capitalised) ... the latest from Michael Moore.

Has his usual bias / chosen perspectives / selective editing and viewer positioning but still a very good eye opener as to why America is not the example we should be towards for ideas.

Its actually quite good at showing the use of political BS propeganda of anti-socialism so a select few can profit over the majority through capitalism abuse at its worst.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force... Hilarious

awesome metal intro song

Don't talk, watch!
Don't talk, watch!
You came here. Watch it.
Don't like it? Walk out.
We still have all your f**king money.

Do not nudge, kick or jiggle the seat in front of you.
I'm sitting there!
I am everywhere at once
and I will cut you up.

If you make out here,
I will cut your lips and tongue
from your head
with a linoleum knife.

Do not explain the plot.
If you don't understand, then you should not be here.
Your money is our money
and we will spend it on drugs.

Do not crinkle your food wrappers loudly.
Be considerate to others,
or I will bite your torso
and give you a disease.

Did you bring your baby?
Babies don't watch this.
Take the seed outside. Leave it in the streets.
Run over it after the show.

If I see you videotaping this movie,
Satan will rain down your throat with hot acid
and dissolve your testicles
and turn your guts into snakes.

This is a copyrighted movie for Time Warner.
If I find you've sold it on eBay,
I will break into your house
and tear your wife in half.

Fighter in the Wind

Korean movie I watched in Singapore when I was trying to kill time.
English subtitles.

Was freaken awesome - based (loosely) on a true story - was great up until he fights the bull at the end
There are a couple of really good uber violent fights.

Wiki Link - Fighter in the Wind
Don't read the PLOT SUMMARY completely - it spoils the movie

1. Mr.Jones--Richard Gere playing man with mental illness.

2. The Cowra Breakout (true aussie story)
"In the early hours of August 5,1944 1100 Japanese prisoners launched a mass breakout from a
P.O.W. camp near the small NSW town of Cowra.
Armed with the most primative of weapons, they charged over the barbed wire into Australian
gunfire.334 actually escaped.Twenty Japanese had already committed suicide within the compound.
Another 180 odd died during the breakout itself along with 4 aussie guards.
The breakout at Cowra was the largest prison break in history and the only land battle fought on
Australian soil in 2 world wars. The full story of the breakout was not revealed for more than 30 years.
It remains one of the most bizarre and least understood episodes in the history of the Pacific War."
