all good.
My votes go to:
1. Cranked in Leederville - Fiori beans
2. Boucla in Subiaco (the top end) - also Fiori beans
3. Green & Co in Leederville - subsidary of Cafe 130 only bigger
4. Epic in West Perth - too busy and getting pricey
5. Cafe Cafe in Subiaco - also getting quite pricey
Cheers, Rick

Used to work over the road from Tiamo, it wasn't bad, but then we discovered a La Cimbale Jr machine in the back of the office and I only went there to buy bags of coffee![]()

Say what you want about pedophiles, but at least they slow down around school zones.
My own place after I get my freshly special roated beans from my "secret" place!

I am a coffee addict, I adore the stuff. I am a fan of Cafe130 in Leederville, I've never had a bad cup from them. One of the nicest coffees I've had was made by a girl at Yahava coffee works in Margaret River. There is a Yahava open on Great Northern Highway now, which I am told from a friend makes excellent coffee too.
Customer: Look, there's no other way to say this, but I didn't come in here to be insulted.
Bernard: Well, I didn't ask for the job of insulting you. In another life, we could have been brothers. Running a small, quirky taverna in Sicily. Maybe we would have married the local twins instead of wasting each other's time here in this dump. But it was not to be. So hopit.

Boucla is still making a great coffee.
Milk in London Court is great - Luke, same guy who was the barrista at Boucla for years. Great guy. He also does the coffee at the Subi Farmers Market on saturdays.

No, Boucla isn't a shade on what it used to be. And its not Milk, its Mini. Go into london court and support Luke (the owner). Its his own business and hes a great guy.Milk in London Court is great - Luke, same guy who was the barrista at Boucla for years. Great guy. Best coffee in perth though is-
Epic - West Perth, one of Australias best
Velvet - CBD (quality has dropped since Ryan/Gemma left)
Greenhouse - Old Ristretto barista Simon
Elixer - Owned by the original Velvet partners
FYI - All of those places use a short cut double ristretto coffee base. Most also use custom (java) blends for their beans. Elixer is waiting for their roaster to arrive and will roast their own beans in house. Boucla used to but AFAIK it just sits idle out back now...
That cover it?![]()
Mini Espresso is where I drop in most mornings. Definately the best coffee I've had at that end of the CBD. Luke seems to know a lot of his customers by name too. Nice guy.
Tiger Tiger is another one of my favourites, as is Cafe Vinyl (at 78 Records on Hay st). Ristretto in the Paragon arcade is also good - their coffee's tend to be stronger than the others. Oddly enough, the decaf coffee at Tiger Tiger may actually be better than their regular - it has a nice very subtle hint of licorice. Velvet is also pretty good, but not quite up there with the others IMHO.
The Brounhaus in Subi is also very nice.
Definitely pleased with the way the coffee scene in Perth seems to be developing. Still got a way to go though, still plenty of caffissimo's around, and places that sell Brazilliano (). In contrast, I struggled to find a decent coffee in Sydney earlier this month.
On a related note, I've been using 5 senses coffee at home for a while, but recently tried some Fiori (roasted in West Perth and used at Tiger Tiger and Mini Espresso) - without a doubt, the best coffee I've used at home.
No amount of genius can overcome a preoccupation to detail.
