CWWTK: what's the quickest you've lost/fucked up something new?

2 weeks back, one of my workmates bought a brand new maloo ute. 5 hours and 60km later, it was on a tilt tray headed for 28 days of storage, while he got to follow along behind in a cop car, and got himself on the news. i reckon this has got to be some sort of record. this got me to thinking, what have you fucked up or lost in a stupidly short timeframe?

i have to own up to dropping a bike with 2.2km on the clock thanks to a possible diesel spill on a roundabout, so fess up.

Back when I was on L plates, my mum bought a brand new Nissan Murano. The next day, to get my hours up dad and I drove it down to Dwellingup and I insisted we try it 'offroad' (well a gravel track). We were driving around with the windows and sunroof open when I saw a mud puddle and accelerated into it. Dirty black mud and water went up the bonnet, over the windscreen and in the sunroof, covering the brand new leather interior. Took dad and I about 6 hours to clean out the car before taking it home and never mentioning it again.

    Neither of these are mine.

In Bali, the mate has bought his son a mobile.
The son left it in the taxi they were taking back from the shop.

Working at a shop in Subi, bloke bought a new CBR1000.
He pushed it out the front and it rolled off the side stand.
Smashed/scraped/ broke a heap of gear on the left side.
He hadn't even turned the key on.

Purchased one of those UFO, disc style, multi-LED style camping lights the other week from Ebay ($20). Opened the packet when I got home, put in batteries. Worked fine, you beaut! Testing the built-in hook/hanger off of my finger when the hook slips out of lamp, lamp falls to floor (bout 40cm), never to work again . Total lit time perhaps 10 seconds.
I know, I know. Its only $20, but that didn't make me feel any better.

Bought a new camera at Schipol airport on my way to the greek islands in July. Lost it on the beach first night in Mykonos. Hadn't even used it yet. Had to use my iPhone camera for the rest of the trip... Thank god for smartphones.

Picked up my new car last week, it was shiny and fun times. Took it to show off to a mate's place the next morning and then I noticed the broken wing mirror indicator from stone chips/rubbish from cars in front. Sadface.

I knew a guy who bought an SS ute in the morning. He got boozed that night and decided burnouts in the rain were an excellent idea, and proceeded to park his ute on the roof of a house in Claremont. It cost him something like $2000-3000 per hour of ownership, including the repairs to the house and the crane to lift his ute. he made it into the local paper for his efforts as well.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon! Press the brake foot as you roll around the corners, and save the collapse and tie up.

Anyway my mum went to the toilet and yeh I was born called my dad and my dad delivered me. 5 seconds later drops me and I smack my head on the toilet bowel. I'm now 20 and have a lazy eye with only 30 percent vision. So I'm the fuck up I spose haha.

Highsided my rgv250 pulling out of the bike shop. The ink on the sale papers wasn't even dry.

Ordered a new LCD screen for a reversing camera -- cheap Chinese shit didn't have a wiring diagram & the wires were both black, trace/non-trace. I decided "trace" for ground. Zzzzppt! & lots of smoke. Ownership time? 5 minutes.

Bought a brand new i40 last week, took the missus less than a week to put a huge scratch down the side parking it. Black does show up the scratches more...

That's actaully a long time to fuck it after reading some of the other stories.

Had my new phone 7 months until it was stolen at school. Assholes.
I bought my dad a CD for christmas and needed the get the price off the front. In doing so I cracked the case I managed to find a replacement case at home with scribbles all over it....so out came the white spirits, I cleaned it all up and wrapped it.
    Happy Christmas Dad!!
