DWtK; What's there to know about Mongolia?

    Hey there PSB,

I know we have some fairly widely traveled folks here in our lovely asylum and there is a not insignificant chance work might be packing me off to mongolia for a bit in the not too distant future for a whirlwind inspection of some stuff they are keen on.

So, what important knowledge can you share about Mongolia?

Chatted to a mate's mate about her trip for work there apparently the food is beyond horrendous but otherwise she had a wonderful trip, loved the place and people.

I have seen some great movies that have been set there at Perth international arts festival last year etc. might be some in movie stores now.

A colleague went hiking through Mongolia a few months ago. Her main points were that the locals are exceedingly nice, curious, and have none of our personal boundaries. She was camping solo, and would quite often be inside her tent (zipped closed) when the zip was undone by a random with no warning. The guy who opened the tent would then just sit down and watch her, making sure she was ok as well as just being curious. After a few minutes he would get up and leave, and often 10-30 minutes later he would reappear with some friends/family, and repeat the experience. Nothing malicious, just friendly curious people.

Apart from that, she said she loved the place, and yes the food is amazingly shocking.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon! Press the brake foot as you roll around the corners, and save the collapse and tie up.

    I heard it's full of Mongol's...

To me, they look like a mix between Russian's and Chinese.

    Oh and Genghis Khan.
If you leave things to the last minute, it means they only take a minute to do!

If you want milk that is not from a horse, sheep or camel you had better specify that fact.

Motorcycles are commonplace, like iron horses. Anything bigger than the ubiquitous Soviet 350's is apparently wasted effort.
