Well that time's almost upon us.
DWTK - What will this new years resolution be?
Do you make them at all?
If so why?
If not why?
Did you make one last year?
Did you stick to it?

DWTK - What will this new years resolution be?
Make it to 2013.
Do you make them at all?
Yes.
If so why?
For when people ask.
Did you make one last year?
Yes.
Did you stick to it?
Not yet, I'll tell you next Sunday.

In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

This year Dubs, it will be to continue to be a 'better man', less of an arsehole towards some and more tolerant. I also resolve to try and get a bit healthier and relax more. Other things I put on my wishlist. These are things I want or want to do. I think the New Years resolution is for improving yourself in some way.
I find I make constant resolutions on the fly throughout the year and tend to keep to them. I guess it's more of a list of improvements and wishes for experiences.
In the past I made resolutions to stop smoking, not touched one in 2 years nearly.
Last year it was to save more and be more reasonable with people. Getting there.
SWTK 2010 new years resolutions
So, going off 2010 (bearing in mind i've had two years to complete these)
So this year i'm going to make it easier for myself and just set aside half my savings for tattoos.
I have a couple of plans for the new year, so I guess you could call them resolutions.
85 kilograms by the end of February.
TESL certificate.
Find place and Job in Japan in December.
Last one is happening with or without the first two, but I would prefer to have the whole list ticked off.

Well that time's almost upon us.

This year I plan to get my business back on track, its been a rough 2 years financially, so putting more effort in this year SHOULD reap benefits.
Get fit, I'm far too overweight and I'm feeling it.
Spend more time with the kids when I can and be more tolerant of childish behaviour, I'm too strict on them.

Meh- screw the resolutions. Just HTFU and do what you need to do and stop giving yourself petty life post it notes every Jan 1st
Yeah, fuck goals. Who needs to accomplish anything.
I'm going to go out today and lose 15kg, deadlift 180kg, cover myself in tattoos and do all manner of things that usually take time to accomplish, but because i've HTFU i can do them in a day.
..
They're goals because they take time.
I'm sure mine's the same as a lot of ppl... lose a little weight. Goal is to get down to 90kg, that's a good trim weight for me, but that's about 8kg of fat that's got to go. And it sure isn't going anywhere with me sitting here on the laptop eating maltesers.![]()
OK, so you have to make a resolution about it , and on a new years celebration?
Why not just get the tatts , or go to the gym and not make up petty little 'rules' that you must abide by to help overcome some psychological weakness that you have just reinforced for yourself?
DWTK - What will this new years resolution be?
Keep on working hard, putting in the effort and getting the results. Gym hard, work hard and respect the woman. Enjoy the little things and steer clear of alcohol as much is reasonable.
Do you make them at all? Yes
If so why? Because i think we all need goals from time to time, somewhere to aim
Did you make one last year?
Yes
Did you stick to it?
I Lost 15kg, put 10kg back on as muscle, have fairly lowish body fat and got healthy both physically and mentally (also ran the c2s in a reasonable time). I got a fulltime job, worked hard and won an award for the hard work i put in. The health and fitness work paid off as I managed to find a fantastic woman too. So it was a great new years resolution that paid dividends for me. I got on better with my mates and grew up in a hurry.
"it works for a spherical chicken in a vacuum"
By the way , this isn't any personal attack. I am one of the whiniest little schoolgirls around, so I am constantly telling myself to HTFU!
I find it centralises the thought process and erases the outside negatives that always seem to hang in the shadows when you know you really need to achieve something!
Get into it and stop pissing about!![]()
what ReCon said, you make a goal of what you want, figure out how to attain said goal, then go out and do it no excuses
"it works for a spherical chicken in a vacuum"
Never made one. I just make resolutions on a needs basis.

I intend to stop eating so much shitty food & lose the extra inches! I know it can be done 'cos I've done it before. I have a treadmill and a home gym therefore I pledge to use them regularly!
It's NOT 2012 yet so I have time to finish all my Fererro Rochers, Buckets of M & M's, Cadburys Favourites & drink dry my piss fridge...!
You only live once, but live right and once is enough
Because I am getting the tattoos and I am going to the gym.
A new years resolution is just a commitment to a personal goal.
It isn't an excuse or a weakness, it's just a time frame. Time frame oriented goals are productive.
If my new years resolution was something like "pay the internet bill", then it'd be a different story.
