How to sleep on your side ???

Lately I've been finding it really comfy to sleep on my side but the problem I'm having is what do you do with the arm at the bottom ???

If I have my body on top of it it goes numb, having it behind me just feels retarded, in front feels awkward. My solution so far has been having it straight up and under my pillow so my head is on top of it.
Works well but I wake in the middle of the night with a totally numb arm.

So PSB, those of you that are side sleepers 'How do you do it ?'

You need to rest on your shoulder and not your triceps/biceps.

    Pretty about it.

    Hello stranger.

Or get one of these gay numbers:

Not sure, Ill check tonight and report back.

I went through a stage of dreams/nightmares about a dismembered hand trying to get me. Caught it one night and woke up, so in my sleepy haze went to the bathroom to drown it(?) and eventually realised it was my numb hand from sleeping on it.

I have to sleep on my side because of a neck injury and the key is having the pillow at the right height so that you rest on your shoulder, then you never get a numb arm. It might take some time to get the right height pillow, or you might need 2 thin ones, but it makes a difference when you work it out.

I'd check your pillow. I was also having a numb arm, and changed my pillow to a whiz-bang memory foam one. Voila! Problem solved.

i generally have it in front, curled about with hand/fist touching your face or something around there.

Well technically after 60 seconds I dont think you would be strangers anymore.

Okay, so yeah it just seems simple to me cos Im always a side sleeper. Target or K mart actually sell a side sleeper pillow, which is thicker, probably firmer...
I use 2 normal big pillows.
As pointed above, roll back a little off your triceps/biceps, twist a little from the hips so you rest on the back of your shoulder. I make a triangle with my arm so my hand rests under or slightly behind my head.

Ever done CPR (training) the recovery position is quite similar except for the bottow arm. Top leg bent at the knee infront of the lower leg.... Sleep like a baby all night long.

edit, actually I lie (pun intended) Often I actually put my top knee behind the bottom leg.

Funny I used to dream about getting attacked by a giant marshmallow, fought back and ate it one night and woke up unable to find my pillow

Yeah I use a high MF contoured neck support pillow and that helps as well

Funny I do that when I'm on my right side (unless spooning the missus ) but on my left side find it more comfortable to have the arm straight down along my thigh I still get numb arms/hands sometimes though which I think is due to neck problems and carpal tunnel
