JWTK - Insure on track-bikes or unregistered Road bikes?

    Hi All

Can an off road vehicle eg track bike, dirt bike be insured for theft or damage????

    Insure my ride - FAQ
Do you insure track-bikes or unregistered Road bikes?
No. We do not insure any unregistered road bikes including those used only for racing or track days.

Does anyone do it and how much?

    Thanks

Give Shannons a call i am 99% sure they do it.

Will cover theft or damage of track cars when stored and also in transport to the track; so if they do track cars im sure they will do bikes (try to get transfer to someone in the WA office when you call)

I was looking into just that type of insurance for my bike recently. Although my bike is still registered for the purpose of this policy it didn't matter.

Shannons would but they wanted all sorts of stuff before they would insure it, photos, detailed info on the bike etc. So I gave up and left it insured as a road bike.

Tried again with Dutton and they got my bike on a policy that covers it for fire and theft at home, and also when it's on the trailer on way to track, basically it's insured until it's moving under it's own power. It was effectively a laid up vehicle policy, for show cars and that type of thing that dont get driven.

i don't think there is such a thing as "racing insurance" ... way to high risk for an insurance company

My race bike is insured for everything except me riding it... If it get pinched or falls off the trailer to or from the track i'm covered.

    That's with Shannons.
