JWTK - When did you last polish your boots!

I have leather bike boots and I just gave 'em a darn good clean & polish tonight. Just wondering, does anyone else polish their boots (providing they're leather of course)?. If so, when did you last do it & how often?

Nugget. after 10 yrs they are finally soft enough and fit like an old sock.. shame the soles are worn out and the zippers almost stuffed.

Meh! Spit and polish. We used to use a bit of "Handy Andy".
On a cotton ball, wipe over heel and toe viola, mirror finish.
Our Warrant Officer never new.

I had my first pair of dress shoes bought for me (rivers) in 1996. Fast forward to today they had only been used probably 4 times - i put them on for a 5th time for a wedding and they actually fell apart on the walk from the train station to the reception! lucky i could duck into a shoe shop on the way and got a new pair - only 15min late!.

Not polish but the Rossi's get the Dubbin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia treatment every six months and the Sidi's copped it from one of my riding companions before we left for a recent eastern states sojourn. The Rossi's are used for more of the all round riding/walking duties whereas the Sidi's are "spirited" only. As a result the rossi's deal with more wet weather.

I had the soles fall apart on three old pairs of work boots in a few months for the same reason, worst part was they were all in really good nick.

Also I always use dubbin, shoe polish is more for looks than maintaining the leather.
