KWTK: Romantic place for dinner in Armadale region (now Carmel region!).
Staying the Armadale region in a B&B for an anniversary and was wanting to know of somewhere nice for dinner. Either around the wider Armadale area or even up in the Hills around there I guess (Roleystone etc.)
Dont want super expensive/fancy as we generally dont eat that sort of food (I am fussy and wife allergic to seasfood that most fancy places put in stuff) so just something really nice. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I prefer first hand recommendations rather than picking something out of a book/webpage.
Cheers.

Haven't eaten much down that way, sorry. This may help - particularly if you have a couple hours to go for a ride and do a recce...

+eleventybillion for Elizabethan Village. There's a restaurant side and pub side, and the bar menu is almost as good as the restaurant menu (the steak and guinness pie is HUGE and very yummy...). The servings are massive and I don't think I've been able to finish a meal yet. The atmosphere is better on the pub side too, especially with the open fire.
It's a good place to go in Summer aswell, as there is an outdoor area and the surroundings are beautiful
KJ, does the Irish band still play on Sunday afternoons?
The Manse is good, but I've noticed the quality go down in the past couple of years, plus they've been squeezing more tables into the same-size rooms

Just don't take her for a stroll through the park near the Council buildings. Narkle has been camping out there.
