I used to do a bit of boxing, so yes, lots and lots of times.
Outside of that, not since high school. Either I don't go to the wrong places, can read a situation, or don't inflame the situation, it's not a major worry for me in my life.

I got punched in the face when I was 18.
I was laying in a bed with my friends girlfriend at the time so that may have contributed. There were ~6 other people in the room at the time so we weren't actually doing anything.
Did I deserve it? Probably.

Oh and I think the las time I was actually punch in he face was when I was about 19, don't remember why but it was at work, not very hard and quite confusing.

a good friend of mine was flat out king hit in the face during a basketball game and it was very ugly needed something like 30 stiches plus nose job. his face was really messed up bad. why would you do that to someone over something trivial like a social basketball game?
same as barfy ive been punched in the head a few times but only ever in dojo's never been full bore bare knuckle king hit in the face.
its a curious thing to me, how often people die from getting punched in the head (and the resulting falling down), seems to me its a newish thing. you know people have been settling differences by belting each other in the head for ever.
i wonder if the proliferation of martial arts training has taught people how to punch harder or something. full bore bare knuckling someone in the face is not something i think i could do i would have to want to kill someone or otherwise be fighting for my life before i could bring myself to try cave someones head in.

A friend and I were at a train station late at night, started talking to some skater guys. They were friendly, all was well. Then some girls for off the other train who skater guys whistled at. Their roid-infested boyfriends followed them, took umbrage at these words, and proceeded to beat fuck out of all of us. I got one punch square on the mouth and walked away.
By proximity, maaaaybe. Personally, no.

Only once in anger (plenty of times sparring....). Caught me completely off guard after a traffic dissagreement as it was a total overreaction to the situation - he just walked up with a friendly look on his face, then smacked me one. I was so gob-smacked (pardon the pun) I stupidly stood there, going "What the...?" and watching my glasses be run over by a passing car, and he hit me again. It was in a rec centre car-park and mums were screaming about fighting with children about, I call out that I am not doing anything... and he hits me again! Funny thing was, it didn't really hurt at the time. By the time I come to my senses to actually do something the centre staff come out to stop things.
Hurt like hell the next day! Barfy can vouch how good I looked a few days later
Lesson learned though. Guard up next time (and hopefully there will never be a next time)
